The Filling Station Lofts
Communication Arts Site of the Day

This project is an old school groovy throwback.
Adam and Philip were the project leads, the copy below is a goofy take on why the project was so unique and why it was noticed by Communication Arts.
"Hey man, how tall can a Flash file be?"
Adam glanced at me, then turned back to his computer. A few clicks later he said "2,800 pixels".
I thought about it, smiled, and said"let's do it".
"It won't work" they said.
"It can't be done" they said.
"People won't know to scroll" they said.
"Flash will never handle it" they said.
They were all wrong.
It's hard to imagine now but at the time websites were all postage stamps and"viewable area" was a religion. The web was endless clicks through small pages.
The idea of stacked stories was unheard of.
A tall page with stories someone could scroll through and engage. Hmmm.
Adam fought an epic battle with Flash. In the end he nailed it.
The building sold out in under 30 days. The client loved us big time.
Communication Arts featured it as a Site of The Day. Fist bump to Southern Brand!
